İntroduction
The senario of “Acı Meyva” that contains 13 part(bölüm), relies on childhood memories of Remzi Canaslan. During the creation of tretmant, the story is enriched by both real events rely on research of historical, geographical, sociaculturel documents and partial or completely fictional events.
In the senario, Armenian event in 1915 during which all the majority and minority groups have suffered is considered objectively regardless of national identity. This senario emphasized on the sensitive relation that is necessary between people themselves and with the nature by sincerity and universial values. In this respect, Pir Baba Kamberi; who helps the child characters during their period of learning the nature and people, by the reference of Tassavuf doctrine; gives some “Heterophatic” lessons that points out the relations among people,nature and universe. As a natural conclusion of this approach, the film, in terms of visuality, promises pastrol tastes.
There is no any limitation on “Target population”, all of 6 and more than that age groups are taken into consideration.
The messages given to the audiance are not presented in a didactic form rather in a dramatic form. Accordingly, the function of katharsis in the film is performed implicitly.
Although it contains some authentic components about the life of local people, Acı Meyva is a sensitive film relies on universial values of mankind.

Common Synopsis

Tan, son of comics artist; Mehmet Aslan who lives in France is ill-treated by his school friends who are armenian origin. After returning Turkey, he listens the memories of his grandfather from himself who has witnessed the Armenian events during that period. Grandfather Remzi Kıyanoglu is a member of Kıyan which is one of the most rooted Turkish klan. During the Armenian event, he is 10 years old. In the reign of Abdulhamit ll, since the Kıyan klan claims share from the empire, it is migrated officially to the Kagıs mountain by imperial edict.
Majority of klan lives in that mountain in which father of Remzi; Hüseyin Bey who losts his mother during his birth also lives. In order to continue his education, Remzi stays near his aunt in Muş

In Muş, Armenian, Turks and Kurds live together peacefully. Remzi has lots of Armenian and Kurdish friends. The most he loves and passes time among them is the shomaker Mıgırdıç’s son Maksut Ahbapyan. Inspite of negative efforts of Greogor; son of the richest craftsman of Mus; the separitist Dikran Haykyan; their friendship gets strengthen gradually. Together with the daughter of gendarme commander; Ayşe and their dog, Beredayı, they learn nature. One of a winter day, they leave the city for catching bird, during this activity, while they escape from the wolfs, They are catched by Kurdish bandits. Çerkez uncle of Remzi rescues them. After that occasion, they decide to become blood brother.

After the Ottoman troops are defeated in Sarikamis and Russian occupation, Armenian movement becomes strengthen and gain speed. Due to the propaganda of both Russia in North and France in South, unrest among local people increases and by the way the militant newspaper; “Van Kartalı” and the other seperatist brojures spread among Armenian folk. In the government building, under the precidency of head official Hasan Bey, gendarme commander Selim Bey, notables of the city, heads of the Kurdish and Turkish klans come together. Messages of friendship and fraternity are declareted. Father of Greogor; Dikran Haykyan seems against the seperatist mentality in that meeting.

In Armenian schools, epic plays are performed, independence poems are read, meetings are done, oaths are taken. Maksut, his father and moderate Armenian folk who witness these situations are convinced that a serious upheavel are about to erupt. They warn both Turkish and Kurdish folk.

Greogor’s attitude against Remzi become harder. Maksut, by giving support to Remzi, protects him. But, Tashnak commities embark upon separitist activities. By catching the members of notable families of Mus, they judge them illegally in underground courts and than kill. Maksut and Ayşe find a man who is judged and killed in that way and thrown near river in a sack. They inform this to the gendarme. Father of Ayse, opens an investigation. Father of Maksut; Mıgırdiç Usta informs the beginning day of upheavel to the genderma commander captain Selim Bey. In the night of the same day, Selim Bey is captured by Armenian Bandits and is killed. Remzi and Maksut try to comfort Ayse.

Spring is about to come. Remzi, Maksut and Ayse feel the aweakining of nature in their innerself. A priest from Surp Karabet monastery warns the Remzi’s brother in law. He both says the upheavel day and its start with the gong of church bell. Gendarmas are settled around the government building, barracks, Duyun-i Umumi office, court building and three large mosque. Folk become armed. While the Armanian bandits come from outside the city, some of separtist local Armenian join with them and attack the Kurdish and Turkish districts by shouting slogans and their flags. Remzi’s paternal aunt; Perihan Hanim, with her manlike nature, directly is involved in clashes. Some of the Armenian family hide the Turks who live in Armenian-intensive village in their home. Upheavel is overcomed in three days. Armenian bandits leave the city. People involved in Upheavel are arrested. Since Dikran Haykyan is involved the clashes with his long range weapon from his house and due to his influence in the city, he continues to be seemed against separatist.
Remzi’s paternal aunt, brother in law, Migirdic Usta and the other; Armenian, Turkish, Kurdish families come together and talk. Friendship and unity are hardened again. Paskalya cookies and Lokum are eaten. Dikran Haykyan come together with French officers in the military unit in the mountain in which the Armenian bandits are trained, they together evaluate the occasions. Due to the fact that a military unit that contains Russian and Armenian who are artillery supported are marching to the Mus, Remzi’s father Hüseyin Efendi and Kıyan klan are appointed to the duty by Ottoman government. İt is needed that till the 4, and 6. Ottoman army arrive the district, Russian- Armenian troop has to be detained. The unity contains ten thousand men which includes the head commander Huseyin Efendi, klan members and the knights of dayı Timurok from Seyh Samil’s race, do more than detainment, they defeat the enemy,

Remzi and his friends are fishing. They participate eatings in “place of pilgrimage”(ziyaretgah) nearbyYalpuz tree. They say rigmorales going from door to door with a cotton baby made for rain pray called “Çemcecuk”. In “ Cemevi”, they talk with Baba Kamberi. By the time, their fighthing with Greogor and his friends keeps going. Maksut and Remzi enter the home of Dikran Haykyan secretly. They bring some documents which Maksut sees before while he takes repaired shoes repaired by his father to Haykyan, they take these documents and give Mıgırdıç Usta. Mıgırdıç Usta brings documents to the gendarme. Dikran Haykyan is arrested.
After return, Huseyin efendi and his men are wellcomed with excitment. Remzi meets with his father. Coordinator of East Region troops; German Bronsart Pasha and his troops come into Mus. They meet with Huseyin bey in Government palace. A assistant of Bronsart Pasha who is a supporter of “ittihat”(Union) makes an argument with Huseyin bey. Remzi, his father and his maternal uncle hug each other with a great passion . Huseyin Efendi and maternal uncle; Timurok return to Kara Çavuş. Remzi and Maksut upset the decision of the Ayse’s family returning in Ankara.

In 24 April 1915 Ottoman government decides the “Armenian departation”. Between 16-55 age; both Armenian Man and Woman are declared as dangerous for Ottoman empire. They will be send to Nort Mezopotamia region near 25 km to Bagdat railway. Turks and Armenian who are in favour of unity become shocked. Maksut has to leave his family. Remzi’s paternal aunt and brother in law offer Mıgırdıc Usta to hide him in their home. Mıgırdıc Usta prefers to be hidden in neighbour’s home. While Armenian are taken one by one from their home by the supervision of Hamidiye regiment, Mıgırdıc Usta and his family are catched accidently. Since he has to leave his family, Mıgırdıc Usta is so sorry. Remzi wants help from his father. In order to rescue Maksut’s father and mother, Huseyin Bey and his men go after migration convoy. Bandits also follow the footsteps of convoy. When the Bandits attack the convoy, they rescue Mıgırdıc Usta and his wife by the help of disorder. When they return into the city, Maksut and Remzi wait them at the entrance of city, they take each other by the hand and run to them.
Tan is so affected from his grandfather memories. When his grandfather asked him what he considers, he says he will tell the brotherhood of Remzi and Maksut to everbody he meets
